  1. This is beyond amazing but the battery cover on the rangefinder stripped its threads. It is amazing because I haven't touched the battery portion in probably 2+ years to replace the battery (once) and a couple weeks ago I went to use it and the battery and the cover were in the GPS pouch on the bag.

I tried to screw it in and found that the threads on both the rangefinder and the cover were totally shot--like blank.

I don't even know where to start here on how this happened but as a temporary work-around I taped 2 pennies over the battery cap then still have to depress the battery cap to get it to function.

Has anyone else experienced any goofy stuff like this before? It has to be way out of warranty but I am still baffled by it.

I have an older one and have replaced the battery 5 times now with now problem. It's all plastic so maybe at some point the cover was over-tightened and snapped a few threads. Just my 2 cents worth

Fire an email off to their CS Department, you might just get lucky!
  4. I tried that and sadly I didn't get lucky. They offered me 20% off the purchase of a new range finder if I bought it directly from them.

I won't be going that route. My buddy has a Blue Tees S3, may end up going that direction...
