Today was the hottest day of the year so far. The Jeep’s gauge said it was 110! The heat around here scares most of the casual golfers into hiding but, not my brother and I. We scooted out to our local executive course, Antelope Greens, to get some iron shots in as a warmup for our Father’s Day tourney this Saturday. I had my share of pars on the front 9 but, 3-putted twice (uggh!). We made the turn and things started clicking with the irons. Birdie on 10, birdie on 12, and the most difficult hole #14, I had a good iron shot to 14 feet (missed the bird). Then 16. Today the back tee shot a 122yds on the laser. I approached the tee. I considered the temp and distance of my gap wedge. Set the tee about 5 ft behind the mark and hit a pure shot to about 4 yds in front of the stick, a single little check and then the AVX disappeared into the cup.
