  1. I've been paying for more than 40 years. Never had a "hole in one" until yesterday!!! I'm 74 and at my peak got down to a respectable 10 h/c (in my captains year 2004) then I had a couple of setbacks to my form: cancer and more recently open heart surgery. After a great recovery this was followed by minor niggly injuries (old man syndrome - shoulders knees, etc) net effect was loss of form and a steeply rising h/c (rose up to 27). Thanks to my golfing friends support and the patience of a wonderful lady pro there has been some steady improvement down to just above 20 and with better fitness and more lessons my aspiration is to get to somewhere in the mid h/c range before too long. On Wednesday this week in a Seniors October Stableford competition at Orton Meadows GC I scored my first ever hole in one. The 07th hole par 3 of the yellow tees - 136 yards. On Tuesday just before the next days competition I had a lesson with the wonderful Suzanne Dickens (one of the golfing pro's at Nene Park GC - (we worked on my irons!) thank you Suz for your patience. I hit an 8 iron pretty much straight into the hole! yeah - looking forward to golf more than ever now.
