On a perfect spring afternoon at Gem Lake Hills Golf Course, I stepped up to the 5th tee facing 181 yards with a slight breeze and a fresh Titleist on the tee. After debating clubs with my buddies, I took a smooth swing and knew instantly the shot was pure. The ball flew high against the blue sky, landed just short of the pin, took one soft hop, and rolled straight into the cup with a loud clink. For a moment nobody said a word, then the tee box erupted in cheers and disbelief. On a beautiful Minnesota spring day, I had just made the first hole in one of my life.
