A new course, terrible weather and still struggling from beers the previous night. A surprisingly hot start from me at a new course with a par on the 1st at North Middlesex, followed by a bogey on an island green on the 2nd.
The denoted "nearest to the pin" hole, I stepped up 2nd after a playing partner hit it close. It felt perfect from start to finish. A 3/4 52 degrees swing, 93 yards and one bounce and in using my second hand Vokey. It looked close as soon as it left the tee. We were speechless and weren't 100% sure it went in. I patiently waited for my other playing partners to hit their tee shot, and then ran to the hole to inspect how close I was. It was in, and I pitched two yards in front.
My best moment on a golf course, and I had the best front 9 of my life. What a day. I bought several rounds to celebrate.
