I'm not seeing any love for Brooks after his big win at the PGA Championship. He did use the Pro V1x to defend his title. Atta Boy, Brooks!!!

Not to mention the SC putter. What he lacks in charisma, he certainly makes up for it with brute talent and a strong will to win. As a successful athlete he should get more credit, but he just can't compete with Jordan Spieth for connecting with the crowds or media.

He was my pick to win. It was an ugly win, but a big win never the less!

He certainly went a different route than most players. Went to Europe to play on the Challenge tour, won several times there and moved on to the European Tour where he did well. Got on the PGA tour thru sponsors exemptions and managed to get his card.
I read where he is very particular about things. For instance he has a Vokey SM4 with a specified grind. He will not change it!! Doesn't have a club deal, travels with a chef who cooks certain meals.
I do admire his attitude about not chasing the almighty dollar and sticking to what he believes in.

On the other side, he's losing out on a lot of MONEY!

Anyone else with an opinion on BK?

Glad to see that Brooks won the PGA. Great golfer and this is not his last major that he will win!

Yes, he is talented and can hit it long, but personally, have never been a fan .

Brooks handled all the distractions and I really don't understand how people think he played ugly. He did what he needed to do and won yet another major. Congratulations to him.

Brooks Koepka is a tremendous talent who I believe will be a force to deal with in future majors. I don't see a personality problem unless giving honest answers to questions from the press is considered a problem. He is liked by his fellow pro's and is cordial with the public. It's a good thing Ben Hogan wasn't around during the television era, because he had one of the most dour personalities ever. He hardly spoke to his fellow competitors during a round and he rarely gave interviews. Let's not forget Tiger either. Prior to Thanksgiving Day 2009, he was no bundle of joy to the press, fellow pro's and the public.

    Liversedge,

Money is not the be all and end all, I’m sure he’s not short. Quite a few pros have no club deals, they then can not be dictated to on which and when to change there precious tools of their trade, He came to Europe with Peter Uhlien to learn his trade and stand on his own two feet and he sure did, he’s his own man. If people think he has no charisma they want to take a look at Dustin Johnson. I hope and think Brooks will go on and win many more events and he still uses the best ball
  11. Big respect for Brooks!
Focus, determination, skill and professional winner
Would take him in front of the emotional excuse makers like Rory and Sergio any day and that is from a Brit!
    Winners are Grinners!
  12. I'm a huge fan of Koepka. Guy goes out there and just plays. No over-the-top pre-shot routine, doesn't grind out each shot, just has a plan, steps up, and hits it. He's spoken out against slow play and calls out guys for throwing hissy fits on the course (Sergio Garcia as example). I agree, he should get much more praise for what he's done the last few seasons. Only player EVER to actively hold AND defend 2 seperate major titles 2 years in a row.

I have a lot of respect for Brooks and was rooting for him this past weekend. He had the stones to move to Europe to play at a young age. He's gotten to where he is through hard work, dedication and perseverance.

Got to love a guy that will tick off Jena Sims on the final day of the PGA because she wants to hug and he wants to focus on getting to job done. You have to be pretty serious about your craft not to be distracted by that. Pretty sure the only thing that will stop him now is the same thing that stopped Tiger, all that power breaking down the body. Time will tell.

Brooks is someone I'd pay to see play golf. Plays the type of game the rest of us mere mortals can only dream about. I appreciate he came up through the "ranks" and continued to hone his skills through hard work and determination. While he may not be the best interview, he seems to be the type of guy you could sit down and have a beer with. I'm hoping he keeps the "chip" on his shoulder and remains a factor in the majors for years to come.

Amazing talent. Turns the long tough courses into a driver and wedge where the other guys are hitting 5-6 iron. Longer and tougher the course (ie...PGA and US Open setups), better it is for him. Even if he's in the rough he can hit it closer with a gap wedge than the other guys can with a mid iron. Great short game. Good putter. Should win alot more before it's over.

I expect Brooks to use his advantage at the Open championship as well. We'll see. Will be fun to watch.

Reminds me of Nicklaus and Tiger. Turning par 5's into long par 4's.

Brooks works hard on the course and also in the gym. He's an asset for our Ryder Cup team and has many more chances to make history.

More impressed with his mental fortitude in the finale to stay focused while HVIII was hitting the ball all over the planet!
  21. I don't want to say it was over after Friday but it looked over. He just cruised in.. kinda stumbled but what a great win. I think he's so talented that he gets bored playing regular events. Go BK!!!
