Ok, so he's not a Titleist guy, but how can you not give a big shout out to Phil Mickelson for his great performance at the PGA Championship. As far as I'm concerned, this will be rated right up there with Jack at the 1986 Masters and Tiger at the 2019 Masters in the "Past their prime, no chance to win another Major" category. Sports books had him at 300 to 1 to win, and even the Golf Channel talking heads thought that Phil would fold on Sunday. Well, he hung tough on one tough golf course and against one heck of a field.

We're all golfers. So, gotta give the guy his due, whether a Titleist player or not. That's just respect.

Tiger not only has Jack's major record to accomplish, but will have to add Phil's new record to his list.

Did aliens take over PM? As a LH golfer, I often have to think if Phil would go for it from a bad lie - I need to not go with my "inner Phil" and play it safe. Who was that man being risk adverse keeping the ball in play?

What an excellent lesson in course management and display of talent at any age.

If he only had that level of Zen at Marion in the 2006 US Open.... But then he wouldn't have hit from the pine straw at the 2013 Masters. He has given us a career of highlight moments that have made golf fun to actually watch.

He deserves all the credits for going against the odds. It has been one of the most inspiring accomplishments I've seen in my golfing life. The 'lefty' is indeed one of a kind.

    He once was with Titleist.
He always was and is a great golfer! Bigtime win!
  7. I didn't really like Phil when he first came on the scene, a bit too concerned with appearances for my taste, but he has grown on me. This victory was very impressive. His commitment to refocus and really work on his game is an inspiration to those of us at a certain age.
  8. An awesome striker of the golf ball and when he is dialed in virtually anything is possible

I have much more respect for Phil after the way he played and handled himself at the Masters.

Kudos on one outstanding showing on Sunday. A very talented golfer that left a lot of strokes on the course over the years. His go for broke cost him. Glad to see him do so well and be all about the Masters. The sign of a true gentleman.

    Lethbridge,

Have to agree with Jim V. Phil handled himself very well at the Masters. Obviously he has respect for the Masters
  13. And a major riser in the new world rankings
  14. What's not to like about a guy that hits his drive two fairways over then ends up with a 8 footer for birdie?
  15. Just gone to number 1 in rankings from money won at the masters
  16. Before I read Shipnuck’s book, I was really down on Phil. After reading it, it showed Phil to be a somewhat flawed human being, just like everyone. I didn’t care about the guys that left the tour, but I think the Masters showed the tour would be better if Phil, and a couple others, had stayed.

I believe some kind of merger will take place and the boys will pick and chose were they want to play. If they qualify why not. We want to see the best play against the best.
