Not sure it will last, but it sends a strong message!

Its definitely interesting. I think that it speaks volumes to the greatness of Vokey wedges, I mean if Rory went to TM and asked for a specific grind and set up I find it hard to believe they wouldn't cater to him. So to think that Vokeys are good enough beat that is amazing.

One of my engineers left to go work on Wedges and Putters at TM (no longer there). From what he told me, just from the engineering side they tried to accommodate player's needs. He never actually talked to Tiger but did work with some people on his team. So I know they are, at a minimum, bothered by the fact they couldn't take care of Rory.

Me? I just went from some TM MG wedges back to SM9s. The TMs were really good wedges.
  4. He's also using a Stealth driver and not Stealth 2. He doesn't seem too keen on everything that TM has released lately. I think he'd hit a TSR driver pretty well, just saying...

I'll pile on - he was put into the first gen 7MB and went back to his protos. So he really doesn't have many clubs you can buy from TM at the moment.

Decades ago, I bought the TM Burner driver and 3 wood. Since then, I've watched TM come out with new and improved models seemingly every 6 months. They strike me as gimmicky. One of the things I really like about my TS2 woods/hybrids, 716 CB irons and Vokey wedges is the lack of gimmicks, classic looks and performance. I appreciate it that Titleist isn't coming out with models all the time. Consistent performance is something I value very much.

  8. Love Rors. It will be interesting to see where this leads, if anywhere, other than he's just using some wedges other than TM. I'm wondering what his contract is in regards to how many TM clubs he needs to have in the bag. That might be why he's going back to the Vokey wedges....

Imagine for a moment in 2024 we see Rory and Tiger with a full bag of Titleist equipment.

I did not notice this.. Good to hear, great players require the best equipment so I'm not surprised ;)
