  1. Just picked up my third SC putter. Can’t help but think for $400 they would have something nicer than an $8 golf pride grip considering what comes with other putters these days. Just an observation

Can always buy one on Scotty's site.
  3. What is it you are looking for? Scotty's grips not only are custom made for his putters but also are stylish....with any premium product one would expect a higher price...

  4. It's because they want to MAKE Even MORE money.

I love scotty putter, but they only think on how much money they wanna take from you.

A beatifull putter like scotty, comes with that ugly grip. It's just wrong.

And if you ask something, they just say that you have to send it in.

I have gone from loving scotty, to hate it.

    It's realley bad customer service....

There is nothing better than a Scotty Cameron putter in my opinion. If the grip bothers you put what you like on it.

Not for anything but you know what they say about opinions. I agree with the original post. First let me say that no one can take my black 2012 Newport 2 out of my bag. But I really dislike everyone making up excuses for Scotty Cameron not providing a better selection of OEM putter grips. Who buys Winnn grips anymore! The pistol grips are fine but for the price of the Scotty's we should have a nicer grip. The number one putter grip on the market is SuperStroke. And from what I hear, the financial arrangement was not worth it for Scotty Cameron. It's a shame that they value profit over their customer's satisfaction. Yes, people have their individual preferences and I respect them, but I want a Scotty Cameron branded Super Stroke putter grip.

First of all, aside from YOUR preference, the majority of Scotty owners would never put a junk Superstroke grip on their putter, especially collectors. They are literal garbage, it's like putting Canadian tire rubber on a Ferrari..

Secondly, if you prefer a larger grip there are plenty of offerings directly from Scotty.. it's called a matador ‍♂️.

But hey, if you want a completely muted feel on you putter by putting a Superstroke on it fill your boots because Scotty will never provide a branded version, that would take away from his matador sales..

P.S. Yes I've tried multiple versions of Superstrokes, they take away a large portion of feel from the putter face and shaft. Baby T's and OG full cords are king .

Agree with Jim S. Put your own liking on it.
  9. ....interesting....

I’m just a bit curious about where you got your putter. My “Scotty” came with a Scotty grip valued at approx. $65.

Second (or fifth) to putting your own grip on it. When I bought mine, I didn't like the red pistolini grip at all, I thought it was hideous. I ordered a black version of the same grip and had it regripped.

Earlier this year after dealing with the yips, I put a Winn DriTac midsize putter grip on it. Whatever works for you is the right grip.

I have putter grips that I prefer and that is what I change to when I purchase my Scotty putters, not get on here a complain about them. I use my right to choose. With respect. Most folks like the Scotty grips. Cheers. And the Golf Pride putter grips I use run over $20.

It is kind of the industry standard grip type. Tiger used a png blackout on his Cameron which is not expensive. If it doesn't suit you change it but I think the types he uses work well for most people and are durable.
  13. Bottomline is that you need a grip that fits your preference, size of hands and weight that will not change your swing weight too much.

    Good Luck,
    Chris
  14. Scotty pairs each putter head with a grip by function & design. However, grips are relatively inexpensive and easily customizable. The grip is you're only connection to the club and your putter is your most used club. I personally think every golfer should be in love with their putter grip. I experimented with several to include various sizes of the superstroke. I eventually found a deep etched corded grip that is fantastic! If you're like me, when you find the right one you'll know it.
  15. Are you sure your putter is not a fake? Brand new Scotties do not come with an $8 golf pride grip. I like the mid-size, and will pay $50 to upgrade to a midsize matador grip, but I save all my Scotty grips. You never know when you might change your mind.
  16. Basically meant grips that are made by golf pride that, without Scotty Cameron on them, sell for under $10.
  17. I don't work for the company, but I would say that the stock grips for Scotty Cameron putters are excellent. I still upgrade to the mid size matador on my last few, but for me there is nothing wrong with the standard grip.

Ok, I don't want to get anyone mad but! Scotty Cameron putter grips are not $50 or $60 they are $37 (for all varities). Yes JMoyers is totally right, all of the pistol grip variations are about $8-$9 dollars without the Scotty name on them. Just about every marquee Titleist pro that uses a Scotty Cameron has a SuperStroke grip on the club. For spending close to $400 on a putter they can certainly do better than what they currently offer.

The leather switchback are more than $60.

The leather stitchback is $110 USD, one of the best grips offered though.
  22. I put a Salty grip (no pun intended) on my Cameron and never looked back. Love the feel of cork.

Agreed. However, the last time I saw a leather grip on a golf club was in the 70's.
  24. Personal opinion is that putting a super stroke grip on a Scotty is just wrong. In Canada, a Matador grip costs $50.

My 1st Scotty Newport (2018) came with the Matador Mid, I switched it for a bigger Flatso BUT now have put a Pistol grip on it. My Phantom X6STR I got last year came with the Grey Pistolero Plus grip. I couldn’t be happier with it. The rubber texture is very easy to clean but doesn’t get too slippery in rain. I switched my Newport 2 grip after seeing how much I like my Pistolero Plus. I always had a good quality grip on both of mine I bought retail.
  28. No matter what putter grip Scotty might put on his putters there will be many people who would prefer something else. That is why there is an aftermarket in putter grips.

FWIW I love the Pistolini Plus that came on my Special select Newport 2. For me it’s a matter of when you find something that works don’t change it.
