Only good vibes coming from Oahu.

The counts are in from the Sony Open and for the second time of the 2021-22 season – and 25th time since the beginning of the 2019 calendar year – Titleist is the #1 choice of the world’s best in EVERY major equipment category on the PGA Tour: Ball, driver, fairway, hybrid, utility iron, iron, wedge and putter.

This week’s equipment sweep follows up on Brand Ambassador Cam Smith’s historic win last Sunday at the Sentry Tournament of Champions where he used a bag of Titleist equipment to capture his 4th Tour victory.

Keep reading to dig into the details and make sure to check out our Tour section on Titleist.com to get a full look at what Team Titleist has in the bag this week at Waialae Country Club.

    The #1 Ball

A total of 102 players are teeing up either a Titleist Pro V1, Pro V1x, Pro V1 Left Dot or Pro V1x Left Dash golf ball, more than five times the nearest competitor (18) – including Smith, whose victory last week in Maui playing Pro V1x marked the fourth consecutive win by Titleist golf ball players this season.

    The #1 Driver

Titleist is the most played driver (42 players), with 93% of the Titleist drivers in play in Honolulu being TSi2, TSi3 or TSi4 models. TSi3 continues to be the most played driver on the PGA TOUR, with 29 players gaming a TSi3 driver in Honolulu.

Playing his TSi3 10.0 driver, Smith led last week’s field of PGA TOUR winners in Strokes Gained: Off the Tee (+3.996), while hitting 14 of 15 fairways hit (93.3%) with an average driving distance of 320.5 in Sunday’s final round.

The #1 Fairway, Hybrid and Utility Iron

No brand has more fairway metals (58) or hybrids (24) in play than Titleist, with TSi2 being the most played model in each category (24 fairway, 6 hybrid).

Titleist is also the most popular utility iron (31), with more NEW T200 (Utility Build) irons (18) in play than the nearest competitor’s total number of utilities (12).

    The #1 Iron

Titleist irons are in the bags of 43 players, more than double the nearest competitor (21) – with more players using NEW T100 irons (18) at Waialae Country Club than any other model.

    The #1 Wedge

There are 204 Vokey Design gap, sand and lob wedges in play, more than three times the nearest competitor (54). This includes the four new Vokey Design SM9 wedges (46.10F, 52.08F, 56.08M, 60.10S) that Smith put in play last week at Sentry, the first week that the new SM9’s were available for competition.

Stay tuned as the Tour launch of new SM9 models continues next week at The American Express!

    The #1 Putter

More players are putting their trust in a Scotty Cameron putter (54) than any other brand, while the NEW Scotty Cameron Phantom X prototype models are making their tour debut in Hawaii.

Wishing the best of luck to all of Team Titleist this weekend at Waialae! Make sure to stay tuned into all things Titleist by following us on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.

Very impressive with the sweep. Would have bet money on several categories, but to win utility irons and hybrids? Congrats.

Thank you for sharing this post, Emily. I was happy to see Cameron Smith, Cam Davies and Matt Jones play well last week. These three players have 100% Titleist bags. and I hope they continue to play well this week in the Sony Open.
