  1. First, Out of all the national Team Titleist Invitationals (TTi) we have had in the past (Pinehurst, Streamsong, TPC Scottsdale, Whistling Straits, etc...), which was your favorite and why?

Second, what course, that the TTi not been held at yet, would you like to see it take place at in the future?

    Cheers!

There have been some amazing locations in the past and I Am sure that there will be more amazing destinations to come, but it is not as much the location and the golf, but the fellowship and connections with all of the other Team Titleist members that make these events special.

Seeing familiar faces and catching up on what has happened since we were last together is the real fun from these events! Not to mention all of the new memories that we all get to make tighter!

ummm good question Chris, here's a few!

    Pebble Beach
    Sand Valley
    Pine Valley
    Bandon Dunes Resort
    Torrey Pines
    SentryWorld
    Kiawah Island Golf Resort

First and foremost, the Team Titleist crew does an excellent job organizing these national TT events. I've attended events when there was an impending major hurricane (Streamsong) and while the world was in the middle of a global pandemic (Bandon Dunes) and with each event, the TT crew still made these gatherings fun and memorable.

For me, the one TT Invitational that sticks in my mind is my first at Whistling Straits. My wife and I didn't know what we signed up for but the idea of playing a bucket list course with all the organizing completed by someone else was worth the risk. We decided to bookend the trip with visits to Sand Valley and Erin Hills which I highly recommend. We played Erin Hills the morning before the start of the TTI at Whistling Straits and we ended up playing with 2 gentlemen from VA who were also signed up for the TTI event (TT members are everywhere). When we told them that we were both signed up to play the TTI, they didn't know that the event was open to all Titleist enthusiasts (male and female). Cutting a long story short, we've seen both gentlemen with their spouses at 2 other TTI events .

I believe a TTI at Sand Valley would be fun. I know TT has visited Sand Valley in the past, but it wasn't for a TTI; since then, Sand Valley has added another course which works well with how TT likes to organize these gatherings.

For my wife and I, we went into these events with the idea of visiting and playing great golf courses. After our experiences with the different TTI's over the years, we've made new friends who we still connect with to this day. I believe that's what TT is all about: friendships and wonderful golf with support from a great company, Titleist. We can't wait for the next one.

Having only been to three, my choice is limited. That being said, Pinehurst 21' would be my pick. Streamsong would be a close second. Sand Valley looks really good. Wouldn't mind going there.

They've all been great. It's hard to beat Pinehurst but Bandon Dunes was right there with it and I'd love to go back.

Wow, that's a tough question. I would say I liked them all equally for different reasons and would only list my least favorite as being Streamsong. That least favorite was due to the hurricane eliminating one of the three courses, cutting us a day short, and causing a big personal bill for being stuck in Tampa for two more days. Can't blame anyone for Mother Nature unless it is to advise staying away from the southeast in the fall months. Future locations? Maybe Hilton Head (not in the early fall), The Greenbrier, The Homestead, Rodeo Dunes (when complete), or Sand Valley (had a small TT event there but not a TTI). I would also be okay with a return to Pinehurst to play the new #10 course. Titleist is doing a great job with making arrangements given that we need lodging for 100+ people and two or more world class courses. That certainly limits the options.

I've only made it to one so far, so it's an easy choice... TPC Scottsdale... but only because I got to play with Big Country one of the rounds!

Favorite event Bandon Dunes, no doubt. Great location.

I don't really have a favorite golf course for a next event, as long as I haven't played there before. So many too choose from.

Having been to a good number and the only reason I did not go to Bandon Dunes or Whistling Straits was because they were walking only courses and I just can't do that anymore. I also did not go to the Ocean Course. I have played that course so many times and have never paid more than $50 to play there. It is 35 minutes from my front door. It also is walking before noon. I have to say that Pinehurst is my favorite resort. I just think none do it better. After that might be the two TPC events at Sawgrass and Scottsdale. Like everyone else it is about golf but also about the fellowship and the folks at Titleist who are the very best a pulling these events together. We have truly become a family at these events. When considering events for the future, there must be two to three courses at the resort to make it worth our while. I am with Dale, would love to go back to Pinehurst and play the new course #10, along with #2 and #4. They treat us like family up there in the pines. Heading up that way the end of May to play in the Dormie Club Classic.

Bandon Dunes was my favorite, for being able to do an event that size during a pandemic, TT did an amazing job on putting that one together. Time of year was perfect, a little chilly but no rain to contend with! As far as future venues, Pebble Beach, Torrey Pines or La Quinta would be fun venues on the west coast to have the event I think.

Great question Chris and a really tough one to answer - they have all been fantastic for different reasons.

If I had to choose a favorite it would have to be Kiawah Island by the slightest of margins over a three-way tie for second (Sawgrass, Pinehurst and Scottsdale). They courses were amazing but the hosting by the facility from the massive (truly impressive) buffet final dinner, to the Oyster bake, to the surrounding area, to the great accommodations - it was one for the books.

Kiawah does a great job. I work invitational events down there and they definitely treat their participants first class. We (FJ/Titleist) just finished providing the registration packages of their 25th Kiawah Island Resort National Pro Am for club pros and their members in March.

I had just joined when the TTI was at Kiawah. Didn't even think about going. Almost went to Whistling Straights the next year but the introvert in me talked me out of it. Bandon was just too far for the first one. Finally went to Pinehurst and had the best time I think I have ever had on a golf trip. Haven't missed since. To anyone reading this, don't think about it, have your credit card out and just be ready to sign up the second it opens. You won't regret it.

Bandon Dunes was easily my favorite, you cant beat that resort... Pinehurst was nipping at Bandon's heels.

Id LOVE to see a TTI at Kapalua, two courses and you might as well make a vacation out of the stay!

For pure golf, it might be Whistling Straits. Both Pinehurst and Bandon had better just for fun events at the short courses and putting areas. I’d like future events to include these type of activities.

I have to say that number 1 without a doubt was the 2016 at Pinehurst, the course that every golf legend has walked, big bucket list course checked off. For some of the same reasons I am pulled towards the PGA Tournament courses, so the links of Kiawah and Whistling Straits and for the fine manicured courses Sawgrass and Scottsdale. The best non PGA is Bandon, and I love Bandon and started going back yearly (thanks Dale). I agree with Dale that as nice as it was the Streamsong event made the bottom of the list, but I know that given the chance I would go back, great courses. So 8 for 8 right now and I sure hope more to come.

I have to add that the Kiawah camp dinner was something I wish everyone could experience, what a great night.

Of course on the wish list would be Pebble, Hazeltine, Greenbrier, Torrey, Muirfield Village, Valhalla, PGA West, just to name a few, but the TTI events are the best ever, what a great team to put the events together. I can't thank them enough for the fantastic experience and the great friends that I have made for attending.

Thanks Chris for asking, this brings back good memories.
  19. the new Fields courses at Plano would be awesome.
