  1. Making a trip down to Pinehurst in two weeks to play #1,3,4,8 and the Cradle. Does anyone have anymore recommendations for must do items while we are there? We aren't leaving the footprint of Pinehurst, and want to be able to soak up the full experience.

It’s been a few years since I was last down there. But I’d recommend sitting on the deck overlooking 18 green on No 2 and enjoy watching the players come up 18. For lunch the Villager Deli is always a good choice. It’s a beautiful area and you’ll have an amazing time.
  3. I really like Pine Needles. The women's u.s. open has been played there a few times. Also, Mid Pines, an old fashioned Ross designed course, is across the street.

The 2022 US Women's Open will be played at Pine Needles...if you were wondering.
  5. They better get busy updating their clubhouse. I know Donald Ross designed the course, but It looks like he laid the carpet in the clubhouse, as well.

Where's N°2 fit in your itinerary? I just don't see how you can go to Pinehurst and NOT play N°2. If it was me, I would remove N°1 and replace it with N°2.

And I would remove #8 and keep #1. As a bit of a golf historian I think the importance of the original course merits play over the newer ones.

Maybe one day #1 will show up on one of the TTIs along with #2 and #4. I like to play old courses myself. I look for municipal courses when I travel, built in 20's and 30's. You can find some gems that have been well cared for at a fair price.

I think you and I played #1 as an extra add-on during the Team Titleist Short Game outing in 2019. I know you and I played #4 on that trip and I also played #1 with some TT bothers, just cant remember if it was you or Don, or both.

Is anyone else coming with a non-golfer (a.k.a. Spouse or significant other)?

There isn’t a spouse program - which is ok, but I’m technically in the room alone.

Other than the Sunday reception and the one dinner, my wife is overjoyed to hit the spa and downtown shops and having me out of her way.

Got a response from Pinehurst. Made me an offer I can refuse. Will be coming alone.

Likely this will be repaid with a trip to The American Club spa during the Ryder Cup while I’m working a shift at the Straits.

You and I played together at the Vokey experience. That was one great event. Getting to meet Mr Bob was a bucket list opportunity.

Def go check out the village of Pinehurst as there are tons of great shops and people. Also swing by the Pinehurst brewery as I still have my cup!!
  15. Didn't fit in number 2 - Played 3, 8, 1, 3, 4 and the Cradle. Amazing, one of the best golf experiences I have ever had. Between the sun, the employees, the golf and the people you meet and become friends with. Would highly recommend that everyone goes to Pinehurst. Now I have a reason to go back....No 2!!

My Fiance who started playing in April, played with me, and played remarkably well. 104 on No 1, including sinking a 40 foot putt for her first ever birdie. Amazing!
