I played the Plantation Course last July and thoroughly enjoyed it. I am coming back this coming summer and would like some input from my TT family on other Maui courses including the Kapalua Bay Course and any other courses there. Thanks.

The three Wailea course on the south part of Maui are all good and fun to play. There is no such thing as bad golf in Hawaii.

Check with Maui Golf Shop for tee time deals. They also offer quality rentals should decide you don’t want to lug your sticks there. One final thing, check out the courses on the isthmus between west and south parts of the island. Less demanding, still great views, but much cheaper. These are great places to work out the kinks at reduced rates, before hitting those tougher resort courses.

Have fun. And don’t forget the chin strap for your hat!

I think that Wailea Gold and the Plantation are the two best courses on the island. The Bay course is fun but I can’t get used to the change in numbering. I’ve played it so many times the old way that I can never remember what hole I’m on now. Lol. If you’re staying up by Kapalua definitely check out the Royal course at Kaanapali. The tougher of the two there and the course they used to play the Skins game on. If you want some more locals courses, and cheaper, check out Maui Nui and Pukalani. Not as well groomed at the Kapaluas and Waileas but fun courses for a fraction of the price.

I absolutely love the island of Maui and have stayed at the Kaanapali village numerous times and have looked at the course there but never taken my clubs with me. Sad, isn't it. Have always gone to the magic islands on family vacations. Last time we were there we stayed at the Hyatt and our room overlooked the courses and I just drooled. We have agreed that next time over the clubs will be part of the baggage. Just so much to see and do in Hawaii, particularly on Maui. Maui is just so peaceful. Hakuna matata and everyone is good people enjoying the good life.

I will second Dale on this. Grand Wailea has beautiful courses so you can't go wrong with any of them. I personally enjoyed the Blue course the best.
