    Good Morning TT.

Just wanted to share some words and photos of a recent visit to Close House in Newcastle.

If your thinking of a Golf Break in the new year, The Close house Complex is a simple must do!

The overall customer experience is second to none, from the courses to friendly staff, to the amazing food and breathtaking views I would highly recommend a visit if you can.

We played both courses The Filly & The Colt and both still in really well kept conditions considering it was November.

The overnight stay in the Courtyard was outstanding, heated floors in the bathroom, plenty of space for luggage, kettle, Tea, coffee milk available, plenty of wardrobe space for your clothes, iron, ironing board bath & Shower it had it all.

Breakfast for spot on with lots of choices and the 3 course meal was a delight and very filling. Drinks you need to pay extra for which came in at £6.50 a pint £3 for a coke so a little pricey but your in the middle of no where so I guess that’s the catch.

Getting there from Newcastle station will cost you around £20/£25 in a taxi but I would pre bill as the black cab would cost around £35.

The pro shop is small but offers everything you need from clothing , balls gloves drinks and snacks. Yardage books are available to buy for each course at £5 and very well detailed. I also picked up a sleeve of Pro V1’s with the Close House Logo on as a keep sake.

Trolleys and buggies are available for rent at £15 for electric and £40 for a a buggy and you Will definitely need it for the Colt course.

The Gentleman on reception Shaun was a great host, his very knowledgeable and also cleaned are clubs and shoes after both rounds which I thought I was nice little touch.

Please visit this bucket list complex if you get chance it’s a must do.

Fantastic venue, been lucky enough to play both courses a couple of times. bunkers could do with some more sand in but other than that a wonderful place.

I was lucky enough to stay in the pavilion the first time i went which is a wonderful place full of memorabilia and well worth it as a self contained bungalow which sleeps 4.

    Hey Stephen.

Is the Pavilion the bungalow on the filly course? One thing I actually never asked about to be honest.

Yes it is, it's fab and lovely to take a wander over the course after a good feed in the clubhouse.

Looks excellent! Did you book direct or via a third party for a golf break?

I played the Filly course earlier this year and looking forward to going back to play the Colt. Just need to build up the courage to take on those hills first!
