  1. Really starting to enjoy my SM8 brushed chrome wedges. I've only played for a couple of rounds, gave them a light wash with household detergent and a toothbrush to clean the head and grooves and the brushed finish has partially worn off!

I've done a few Internet searches and there's been a few negative comments about the poor durability of the finish.

Has anyone else experienced unusual wear with the brushed steel wedge?

  2. I have not experienced this problem with any of my brushed chrome wedges over the last 20+ years. I only clean my clubs with normal soap and water.

Sure looks like they were set in a bucket with a little bit of water that might have contained bleach or something similar. You can see a distinct water-line across the face. This will likely rule out any manufacturing flaw that would be consistent throughout the entire clubface.

I have never had any issues with my brushed chrome Vokey wedges.
  5. I purchased the Volkey SM8 last year and played around 50 games with the 56° and 60°
The 56°has damage to the finish to a point where at the bottom of the groove near the end of the sole, the dye or cast is splitting, at first I thought it was denting but it is almost teared which I think is defective or totally non resistant to traps like with play at the Quebec ROYAL golf club. I asked the pro to show it to the reps for warranty purpose but my request was denied. So it definetly is not resisting to play in sand traps. Perhaps around the light rough. I am sarcastic because I am very disappointed of the response provided by Titleist Rep to our local pro shop.

i had one in the sm8 range and that wore rather quickly palying on my sandy links course, however the black raw finish is so much more durable before it even gets to the raw finish. i was dissapointed with the brushed steel to be honest so ended up swapping it out for my old black raws
