Has Titleist set a date when the new Concept Irons are going to be available ?
  2. Do you guys know if they do trade in's? I have 2 sets of TMBs that I paid a boat load for.....I am in retail therapy mode.
  3. OK, so I've had my concept 02 for a couple of weeks now. In a word, awesome. They are longer, fly higher and straighter than my AP-3 (and AP-2 before those). I hit the Concept 01 before deciding on the 02. I was moderately impressed by the 01. They flew as well as the 02, but I was not crazy about heavy, well cambered sole. The 02 looks like jewelry they are so beautiful. I love the thin top line and compact head at address, so they inspire confidence in me. The amount of offset is perfect and the blade length varies perfectly through the set. If I have a gripe (and I'm reaching here) it is that they don't curve enough when you want them too. I know that sounds like a nice problem to have and it is, but when you hook behind a tree, you almost always have to hit another hook to get out of that trouble. This is the area where the Concepts do not excel compared to a traditional forged blade. Having said that, you can hit them high, hit them low, knock it down and hit all the shots you want to score. All the technology is hidden behind a beautiful blade, but at impact, there is a feel of "solid flex" behind the face. I think I know the face is thin, and this makes sense because a forged blade on the sweet spot is a feeling of all the mass of the head moving through impact. This iron feels almost like the face rebounds like a driver. It is a different feel; not an unpleasant one, but different. The results speak for themselves however, as these irons are the real deal. Mishits still fly straight and go about 90% of a good strike. So I've got a long putt instead of an explosion or chip. Bottom line, these irons are winners, the feel is pure Titleist and the results make me believe I play with these irons for a long time. The technology is well hidden. I know it's there, but these look like a classic package with all the tech of a game improvement iron. If you like high ball flight (which is what I strive for) and straighter ball flight, these irons are a great choice.
  4. Did an iron fitting at a club champion. Hit, well, everything. Current AP1 guy. LOVED the 01, ordered up a set. More forgiving, higher launching, more spin, longer distance than my ap1s.
