I love my Club Glove "Last Bag". I have traveled with it for 8 years now and the bag is still in good shape. I agree with the other TT members that a Stiff Arm is a must.

Enjoy your trip and play well.

I’ve always had a Club Glove and have never had a problem. I did see a gentleman walking thru the Pittsburgh airport carrying his set in two pieces cursing about the airline told him too bad so sad..gave me thought about a hard case

Yep, always check the policy of the airline you will use. Some will not cover damage to a soft bag or damage to your clubs. I have the Club Glove Collegiate but also have an SKB hard case I use most of the time when flying, especially overseas or flights with multiple connections where handlers have several opportunities to get a little too rough.

I travel 2-3 time a month and my hard case has never failed me (SKB) I fit 100% of what I need to golf in it and have no worries about their safety. If you’re a Apple/IPhone used pick up one of the AIRtags and then worst case they get lost you can start cracking skulls through the airport.

I used to use a soft case but switch to a hard case and have had no issues. As others have stated meets the airline size requirements.

I'm another Club Glove & Stiff Arm fan. My only regret is that I didn't get the oversized bag. It gets a little tight with 2 pairs of shoes, towels, etc. But that being said, the bag is fabulous, folds up for easy storage and has a padded area around the club heads. Oh, and the wheels are the same grade that you'd find on Rollerblades.

I pulled the bag out last night and will be packing it up for my trip this Friday!!!!

Hard case for me, load the clubs, lock it and never an issue.

After years of travel, I have come to rely on the Club Glove Bag and Stiff Arm. Never failed me once. Like others, as driver and wood heads have become detachable, I've pulled them off and either put in suitcase or carry them on with me to prevent damage and/or loss. It's been a trustworthy combination.

Traveled once for business with a hard case and frankly, will never do it again!

There is a tremendous amount of great advice here, which I appreciate.

I will soon be taking a bucket list trip overseas to Scotland then Ireland. I’ve never traveled across the pond before. Super excited! We are flying to Scotland, then taking a boat to Ireland, then flying home from there. 10 days in each country. My family has been great and they are encouraging me to bring my own clubs and to try and play as much as possible while we are over there. Being that I am traveling with my large family and kids, portability as well space in our rental suv is a factor.

Based on the great advice being given here, I am debating between the Titleist Professional Large Club Glove Travel Cover with stiff arm or a SKB hard case. Leaning towards the club glove, but for those of you with a SKB hard case, which model do you prefer and why? Deluxe standard, standard or staff deluxe? For reference, I have a hybrid 14 stand bag. Would like to pack my golf shoes, box of balls etc.. in the travel bag/case as well.

Any other tips/advice/suggestions would be greatly appreciated Team Titleist! Thank you!!!

My SKB Standard holds a Players 4 and one set of shoes. There is a little extra room to stuff in rain gear and a few other items but it's a bit tight. I like that about it because while rigid, it is not as bulky as the bigger bags. Locking closure with a TSA access key. You might want to find a large golf retail store that carries lots of travel bags and do your own comparison. What works for one person may not be the solution for you.

Overseas travel I would definitely go hard case. Take out a variable if you are going that far! My two cents.

When I do use my Club Glove Collegiate bag, along with my Stiff Arm, I slide a couple of PVC pipes over the legs. I have had two bags repacked by TSA where they laid the bag sideways and the aluminum leg got bent. Bummer.

I am thinking for travel, that it might be better to have a carry bag. I have seen quite a few stand bags with bent legs. Plus a carry bag (smaller) would fit easier into a car along with other luggage.

The "Sunday" carry bags are definitely an option if you will be walking the courses and do not have a lot of gear to bring along. I often play with just 12 clubs so that helps. A full set of 14, winter weather gear, and other miscellaneous items gets a bit tight in my Sunday bag. The travel bag would still be the same size so that wouldn't save a lot of travel room but you could pack more gear into it to save on suitcase space. I have seen some bags that are built as combination travel and playing bags but not sure how well those work. Nice thing about my current Players 4 Carbon is the legs are graphite so they are much more durable than the aluminum legs.

I also have the Collegiate bag. My bag has a strap to keep the legs from extending. On my old bag, I'd just disconnect the bars to prevent the legs from extending. That said, I use the Stiff Arm and move my driver to the lowest opening.

I'm actually hoping to upgrade my Club Glove to the large pro. The newer stand bags seem to have grown in size and make a tight fit in the Collegiate.

Steve, the problem is not the legs extending. I too used the velcro strap to hold them down. The problem was TSA shifting the bag where the legs were on the side of the travel bag and not protected by the rigid part of the bottom back of the bag. Throwing other luggage against the sides caused one of the legs to get bent. Happened two different times with two different bags. Not severely but noticeably bent. I am a good packer but TSA cannot be trusted to give a darn about our golf equipment.

Another vote for Club Glove and they are by far the best!
  18. I am about to purchase a travel bag, but I need your advice on which will fit my bag. I have the current Titleist Midsize Staff bag and I'm not sure if I would need the large or not?

I also have an alternate stand bag that I could travel with, but I would prefer to take the staff bag.
  19. Never had any issues using a soft bag (cheap TourTek or whatever the brand is from Golf Galaxy). Take any heads off that you can and you'll be fine. Use a stiff arm if you'd like, but I've never had any issues without one (knock on wood). I like to use my soft bag to keep shoes, golf clothes, and such, and I feel like a soft bag gives you more flexibility with that.

I use a soft case and haven't had any issues. I found some hard cases to be larger and harder to maneuver. Like many others mentioned above I take the heads off the driver and 3 wood. I also have iron covers i use when traveling to limit the "clinking" around and protect. I have the tour Trek TC-Flex and really liked it. The Sun Mountain club glider looks great and moving in stores is pretty awesome but definitely pricey.

For years I’ve used Club Glove Last Bag and a Stiff Arm and have never had an issue.
This Christmas, I treated myself to a SKB Hard case for ultimate protection.
Airlines won’t insure clubs in a soft case and that’s my reason for purchase.

I have both hard and soft. I can stuff my soft case with clothing and shoes lol.

At a glance in an awkward but unfortunate news from the travelers: Edinburg.
It was difficult to ignore the number of golf bags piled up on the floor- hundreds of them and nowhere to go.
The golf bags weren’t at fault. It wasn’t because all in the picture were all soft cases, but I sat there thinking, “Wow, I’m not the only one with a soft case travel bag!” :-)

    Travel light and soft.

I just got back from my first international trip and of course I wanted to take my clubs. I went to England and Scotland, did the same research on here. Here's what I did...

Take the driver and 3-wood heads off, put them inside their covers and inside the golf bag. Took Dale V's advice and cut pvc for the legs on mine and my son's stand bags. Then wrapped bubble wrap around the shafts, towels around the heads, and the club glove stiff arm. This all went inside the club glove collegiate bag (stand bag was perfect size). Then added two sets of golf shoes (interior pockets on the club glove bag).

Packed additional box of balls (left dash for the win) in my carryon. Rain Suit went into the golf bag. All went nice and neat through a couple of connections and traveled extremely well. Loved the experience and thanks everyone here for the great advice!!!

That pic of the Edinburgh airport and the golf bag mountain was a little scary. I did the train up from London and back so I avoided that mess!

I have a hard case to protect my clubs. United requires clubs to be in a hard case for insurance.

The soft cases are easier, but the baggage handlers at Newark NJ Intl. aren't know for their caring touch.
  26. Club Glove soft for me. Stiff Arm, towels and take the heads off your woods. No worries.
