  1. I've only had one hole in one so far and it was when I was 14. I was playing with the club professional on the par 3 course at my club and it was one the first hole which is 150 yards. First shot of the day and it looked flush to the pin the moment I hit it. I remember it hit the green, skipped twice and went straight in the hole, we both went mad as soon as it went in and so did the group waiting behind us! Such a good feeling and fair to say I've never used the ball since, it's now retired to the cabinet with the date and "hole in one" written on it.
  2. Playing my first competitive round of golf for two and a half years after returning to my club, west Lancashire in Crosby.
Playing the 12th, 179yards had a hole in one using a 5 iron! Golf bug back!

    Hi
I posted a few weeks ago saying that I have come close but am still waiting for my first one. However my 11 year old son has beaten me to it. Playing yesterday in a 9 hole junior comp he hit 3 wood on the 156 par 3 fourth and watched it take 1 bounce and roll in.
He has been pestering me for Pro V1 ever since his friend told him they are the best ball and after yesterday he has said he will never use anything else! This could become expensive

  4. My first ace!! Happened on the 20th May 2017 at the invitation day on Birstall golf club in Leicestershire. On a blustery day on the 10th tee, with a 146 yds to the pin, bunkers protecting the front, and the wind predominately in my face, I took my rescue from my bag, when it left the club face I knew it was a good strike, with a slight fade the ball bounced once and dropped into the whole. The elation continued when we realised that it was an ace, with a shot on the hole 5 stableford points were added to the scorecard.

On 20th May, at the age of 73, after 65 years playing and a member for 53 years at Formby Golf Club, I holed in one for the first time with my tee shot at the 5th hole par3, 153yds using a five iron. It was a good shot, but I didn't know it was in until we looked in the hole and there it was!
Many people have several of these, but to me this one is very precious - I hope I don't have to wait another 65 years for the next one!
  6. Double whammy!!! Yes' I've had 2. The 2nd was on the 26th April 2017 - 17th at Kirkby Valley in a comp. Into the sun, I knew it was a good shot by the feel but the first we knew about it was when I looked int the cup.

My first is a better story 5th Auust 2014. driving Father Daly of Formby to mass, he shook my hand saying you've shaken the hand that shook the hand of a saint (late Pope John Paul II). I played in an open later that day and aced the 10th - see link & pic.

Since the first Ace - I always pay a fiver each year to be in the Hole In One club - looks like my 2017 effort could take me to play TPC Sawgrass in 2018!

Sadly I have not been lucky enough to say I've had a hole in one but I've had an albatross 2 on a par 5 which I got on the last hole at my home club to win a match 1 up so i guess it's not a bad runner up

Played deer park yesterday in the t21 charity event (raising awareness for Down syndrome)
On the 10th hole I hit a 9 iron in the hole for my first ever hole in one!
    Using a pro v1x
What made it even better was two groups were watching and we had to use my drive at that or the next par 3 as it was a Texas scramble

This is my story of a recent hole in one at a charity event at Kedleston Park golf club, Derby. 150 competitors present so the bar bill was extensive. Thankfully mostly covered by my golf insurance. The day raised around £11,000 for Rainbows Hospice for life limited children. Absolutely magical experience. If you look closely it was a Titleist DT Solo I used.

On Thursday 26th July 2012 I had my first hole in one on the par 3, 181 yard 15th hole at Matlock golf course, Derbyshire known as “79 Bridge”. I was playing in a representative competition against the home club side. It was my first ace having played golf over 25 years. On both occasions I was playing a Titleist golf ball.

  11. Although not my first HIO, I had a special one on Saturday 24th June 2017. 360 yards on a par 4 at Ripon City GC, using my 917 (T2) driver.

This year I changed my irons to AP2s and I'm at last happy with what's in my bag
