    Big thanks to TT for sending these balls. I normally play the ProV1 and really enjoyed the 2023 version. I am consistently gaining 3-5 yards with the new ProV1. Performance on approach shots and around the greens is the main reason I have played the ProV1 for over 30 years and the new version did not disappoint! These will definitely be in the bag when available. Thanks again to TT!

    I was excited to find two sleeves delivered to me recently. I liked both of them but favored the Vx more, which is a change for me after years of playing the ProV. The distance increase was very nice and the feel around the green was an improvement, at least for me. Great job on delivering another top notch product!

    I usually play TM TP5 pix so I played 2 balls a hole on a slow day using the Titleist 2023 Pro V1 and Pro V1x and the TP5 pix...liked all 3 but the Pro V1 felt softer to me...not a bad thing just softer... actually felt like the Pro V1x played a little longer, couldn't tell you why and it was not significant...I still like the pix for alignment...I am a 12 handicap down from a 16 with medium swing speed...liked em all of course

    This was my first time being ask to test out a new product and I gotta admit it's flattering to be involved in the process. I took this exercise seriously and tried to put each ball through its paces. For background, I'm 55, play to an 8 handicap and have played the Pro V1 for years.

    I preferred the 388 to the 348 in terms of feel and spin. I did not notice a significant difference in distance with either ball over my current Pro V1. I did find that I was able to spin the 388 more with both short and long irons. The feel putting was similar to the Pro V1 which I like. I also found that both of the prototypes seemed to be more durable.

    Here is my review of the prototype golf balls I was lucky enough to receive. For the #348 Cover feel is much better than the previuos model. Feels llike it spins less off the driver. I used to play the 1x until the lasr version of the Pro V 1 went into production. Around the green very predictable, soft feel off the putter face.

    For the #388 the cover feels firmer without a loss of feel. Off the Driver This ball seem to spin more than the previous model. Same soft feel off the putter. For me where i saw the biggest difference was around the green. Seemed to bite and check more. I would put this version in play, due to the added confidence around the green

    I used one ball from box 348 two days ago and I was surprised how the ball stopped on the green. Yesterday I used one ball from the 388 box and it felt real soft off the driver but did not check up on green as well as the 348. I will of course keep using them and keep comparing them with my tour soft ball. Thank you for including me in your new ball review. Someday maybe I will find out which ball from box 348 is and also the box 388.

    I've played both balls during a few rounds, alternating them front and back nine. They both felt softer than the Pro V's I'm already playing, which I like. The feel with my short irons felt better with both. Distance with both seemed better.

    The new ProV1 is definitely longer. Don’t feel like I’ve lost any control/spin and gained about 10 yards off the tee.

    I was surprised to revive the testing sleeves the other day. I played 18 on an inclement weather day that ended up with a PCC of +1. Strong winds and rain.

    Anyway, I played the 348 on the front nine and the 388 on the back. Overall I felt both balls performed well. I happened to shoot my lowest score on the course I played even with the weather. I don’t feel I can say how they handled from a spin perspective. The distance was good given the conditions. I liked the sound and feel of the 348 a little more.

    I enjoyed the testing and dropping my handicap by one stroke wasn’t bad either.

    After giving each one of the prov1 prototypes several rounds of testing I will say that I cannot see any significant changes. I have long been a user of titleist balls, but the prov1 has not been my favorite choice, that belongs to the tour soft. I personally feel that golf ball preference primarily is feel and while both of the proto balls were more than adequate neither provided this senior golfer the feel and confidence I receive from the tour soft. I have very strong feeling that senior golfers are not tied to the prov1 or 1x. I have been a dedicated user of the titleist brand
    for over 40 years and will continue to do so. Please keep the tour soft version available to your senior players. Thanks Golfnut 1943.

    Hello Team Titleist,

    Thanks for including me in the 2023 Titleist Ball Testing Program, first time participant.

    After a very cool early October in the upper Midwest, we finally caught a week or so with reasonable temperatures and winds, so got to play a few rounds and test the balls versus the 2022 versions.

    The 388 Proto had a 'flatter', more penetrating ball flight for me than the 2022 model. Although tee carry distance was difficult to measure changes, the 388 was 3-5 yds longer in total distance off both driver and 'fairway-finder' 13.5* 3 wood. Trajectory control was still easy to maintain. The ball felt more 'stable' in crosswind conditions on good ball strikes and had slightly more spin than the prior model. Feel was still excellent, especially with 40-60yd specialty shots into greens. The ball still has the very satisfying 'click' when well struck.

    The 348 Proto was very comparable to the 2022 version while being longer off the tee (+2-4 yds). Still higher trajectory than the 388 across the bag, and a slightly 'harder' feel than the 388, but comparable to prior models. A little more spin than the prior model around the green (just for kicks one day I played with a recent set of 'spinnier' blades and got great backspin; even had to go down a club to compensate for less roll-out).

    Thanks for including me in your test. It was really fun to play the balls side-by-side with their predecessors and record and analyze the differences. Both balls will be great additions to the Titleist ball in 2023 and I can't wait to play them in better weather (saved one of each for an upcoming trip to Scottsdale!).

    So fortunate to get my white box just days before I headed to Bandon dunes on a five round golf trip. Play them my entire trip. Unfortunately came home with three less than I arrived with. But all I can say as well. I was very impressed. Love the field, the spin, the distance, the accuracy, felt great and played very true to my known yardages. They were fantastic. Proud to have been a member of the white box testing community!! #Number1BallinGolf

    Finally was able to get out and test both the 348’s and 388’s. I was impressed from the first swing. The 348 consistently was a few yards further than my current Pro V1x, but what I loved most is it felt like butter coming of my irons. I also seemed to control the spin a lot better, especially from 100 yards in. Overall I really like the improvement and think it’s an awesome ball!

    Now the 388, I noticed I was a little shorter and ball flight seemed lower for me. Spin was still solid although it didn’t seem like it gripped as well as the 348. Overall though it was still a much better ball than competition as I compared it too some tms, Calloway’s, and Bridgestones. Consistently knocked it closer to the hole.

    Really enjoyed having the opportunity to test them and can’t wait to start using them in my rounds going forward.

    Thank you Titleist for including me in the new proto testing. I played the ProV1 proto in Albuquerque last week and I have to say it played phenomenal. I played 1 ball 18 holes and it held up just fine. Usually I go through at least 2 balls because of wear and wedge skuffs. The distance seemed a bit longer, it spun when needed and the cover was more durable. I will try the ProV1x when I get to warmer weather. I liked it!!!

    Thank you Team Titleist for including me in your proto testing. I found the ProV1 proto to be a bit longer, it spun when needed, but the biggest thing I found was the durability. I usually go through 2 or 3 balls during a round because of scuffing and wedge wear and I only played 1 ball the entire round with a score of 77. I liked it and will surely game this new ball when it comes out!

    I typically play a Tp5. Only because of the feel. The new pro-v’s are a perfect combination of feel AND DURABILITY.
    My main complaint with the Tp5 was the lack of durability. It’s seems the pro-v team brought feel and durability to the next level. Please send me more lol.

    First off thank you Team Titleist for allowing me to test these prototype golf balls, this is an awesome perk!! Overall I felt that the 348 is the perfect fit for my game. Great feel off of all clubs, driver down to putter. I felt I had more control of the ball with the 348 over the 388 off of the club face. The greens I play are soft and I felt that the 348 had less spin on wedges/short iron approach shots. I felt that the 388 was a bit firmer offer off of driver/irons and I did not like the "click" sound off of the driver face, it just felt like a much "harder" golf ball. Also felt a bit to spinny for me off of the driver. I did play the 388 at a course with firmer greens and I appreciated the more spin coming into the greens. I also feel both balls gave me some added distance but it's hard to tell since the temps are a little colder in the morning and fairways are getting softer.
    I also loved the way both balls held up to multiple rounds of play. I used the same 388 ball for four rounds and the 388 for 2+ rounds. Both balls show little wear.

    I've played both the 348 Prototype and the 388 Prototype. I found that I really liked the 348 Prototype versus the Pro V1 that I normally play. Both versions enabled very predictable trajectories and distances. I found the 348 Prototype to be very similar to the Pro V1x and the 388 Prototype very similar to the Pro V1. Spin on short shots is consistent, so check and roll-out are predictable, too. On full wedge shots to a medium-soft green I found that the 348 Prototype might spin back a bit more than a Pro V1. I haven't played either ball in high (18 mph) wind, so I don't know how the ball will behave.
