Thank you to all who posted pictures and stories of this event!

I don't do the Facebook social media thing, so seeing them here is really great!

It has been a while. Glad you are back on the site. Have been looking for a game when I am back home. Are you up?

Pictures above are: 1) From third tee at Pacific Dunes, 2) sheep Ranch from behind 18th green, 3) from 6th tee on Sheep Ranch (probably my favorite tee shot at the resort).
  6. Hey TTers,

I'm thinking of heading to Bandon as a single in April, try my luck as a single on the waiting list. For those who have played Bandon before, especially as a single, what suggestions do you have?

Taking some time off work in early April, going to road trip south from Seattle to Bay Area and back, and the side trip might be the best part!

    Thanks,
    Roger

Roger, I think you will love it. Suggest you call now and see if they can fit you in. My first trip was as a single but I still had to get reservations nearly a year in advance. Because they are remote and have a 30-day cancelation policy, rare for people to no-show. I always stay in a single king room at the lodge or inn, even when we go as a group. The other downside of going as a single is the variation of players you might get paired with. You will see everything from scratch players to 20+ handicappers. I usually let whomever i am paired with, play their own game and i just tee off last from the tees that fit my game, even if i have the honor on any given hole. If you go to the Team Titleist Facebook page and look under "Files" you will find a more detailed summary on Bandon. Good luck and have fun.
  8. Thanks, Dale! I've actually never heard anyone say anything bad about Bandon, even when it's dumping sideways, so I'm sure I will love it too.

I'm hoping that because I have flexibility in my schedule, they'll be able to squeeze me in. Hope is a bad strategy, but, it's what I got. And yes, will call this week to get on the waiting list if nothing open. I imagine that lodging will be more challenging than tee times.

    Cheers,
    Roger

Yes, some people stay in town (Bandon) but that's about a 15 - 20 minute drive in and the rates are higher for the golf if you are not staying on property. Might be your only option if they are all booked up unless you stay in Coos Bay and drive 40 - 50 minutes each way. Hopefully you can get a room.
  10. My lucky day, going solo with flexible dates...Just booked this for April 3-5.

    3rd: SR/OM
    4th: BD/PD
    5th: SR/BT

    Should be a blast!

Making first tip in June 2022. All booked, playing eight times (all 5 + Preserve + replays at Pacific Dunes and Sheep Ranch).

We're taking a forecaddy at Old Mac but are hoping studying other courses in advance (and picking the brains of friends who've gone) will be enough. Any advice on that front?

Anyone else been in June? We're expecting wind of course.

You will love it. Forecaddie can help on Old Mac, Pacific, and Sheep as the routing between holes gets a bit tricky. Just keep an eye on the group in front of you and look for signs. We always go in winter since we rarely play 36 holes or more a day. June will give you plenty of daylight for multiple rounds and yes, known for windy afternoons.
